06 EUROMAIDAN EVENT RECONSTRUCTION2016-2018
I co-designed and developed a web platform for the interactive presentation of spatial and visual evidence in a legal case centered around police brutality during the Euromaidan protests. A collaboration with Ukrainian civil rights lawyers and robotics scientists at Carnegie Mellon University, the project digitally reconstructs the events around three protester deaths, pulling from a massive media archive documenting the mass demonstrations of February 20th, 2014 in Kiev.
A version of the interactive mapping platform was featured in the exhibition Before the Event / After the Fact: Contemporary Perspectives on War at the Yale University Art Gallery in 2017.
The case and research were profiled in the New York Times Magazine: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/30/magazine/ukraine-protest-video.html
